New international travel rules from Monday October 4
New clearer travel arrangements for the international travel from the UK will come into effect on Monday 4 October. Essentially there will be a travel red list, and everywhere else will be green. The government is more confident with this plan going forward due to the vaccine rollout success. More simplified testing will be in place for the fully vaccinated, to help reduce current high costs for testing before travel, and open up the travel industry. The non-fully vaccinated, will still have to take a pre-departure test, a day 2 and day 8 PCR test and self-isolate for 10 days upon their return from a non-red list country under the new two-tiered travel programme.
